NYA library plans special events in August

Summer reading fun continues at the Norwood Young America Library in August.
Remember to pick up your Read Write Draw entry forms, reen review forms, or adult bingo card forms for the reading program contests. You can also record your summer reading progress at Bookawocky.org and earn badges.

Summer Reading ends on Aug. 19. Drawing prizes for ‘Read Write Draw’ include books, State Fair tickets and Twins tickets.

• Friday, Aug. 2, 11 a.m. – Reptile and Amphibian Discovery Zoo. Will there be snakes? Will there be lizards? Come and see.
August 15 to 17 during library hours (Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m.,  Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.) – Book Sale. There are plenty of great deals. Donations are tax deductible and can be brought in any time. Money raised benefits the NYA Library.
• Saturday, Aug. 3, 1 to  2:30 p.m. – Tails for Reading. School age children are welcome to read books aloud to therapy dogs to encourage confidence in reading. Please call or stop by the library to sign up for 1 minute reading sessions.

The Norwood Young America Library is located at 314 Elm St. W. For questions, call 952-467-2665. Also, Master Gardener help desks are at the Waconia and Chanhassen Libraries from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every summer Saturday. Stop in and have all your garden and lawn questions answered.
