Waconia marching band finishes season in Colorado

The marching band season has come to an end.
After 41 consecutive years of competition, the Waconia High School Marching Band continues to stand tall among its peers. The 2013 Marching Band performed in 12 events which included seven competitions throughout June and early July.
The students represented the city of Waconia by presenting their show “The Heist” in all 12 parades. A detailed recap of all competitions can be found at marching.com.
The Waconia marching band recently returned from a trip to Breckenridge, Colo., where it was the featured band at the 4th of July parade. The buzz in the crowd of over 20,000 spectators was that they were “blown away” by the band’s crisp professionalism and they were, without a doubt, the crowd favorite.
As part of the Waconia High School Instrumental Music Program, the marching band program is supported by hard-working band boosters, parent volunteers and generous sponsors such as Mackenthun’s Fine Foods, Waconia Dodge and the local Kwik Trip.
Without the efforts and donations from these individuals and organizations, the program would struggle to exist. If you would like to donate to the program, visit www.facebook.com/WaconiaHighSchoolMarchingBand and click on the “Donate” button. Donations towards Waconia’s ambassadors of music are greatly appreciated and go a long way towards the future of the music program.
