Girls participate in ‘More Than Pink’ program

Waconia Community Education’s More Than Pink program held its 3rd annual 5K Fun Run on Thursday, Aug. 15. More Than Pink is an eight-week program for girls in grades 3-6. This program is designed to inspire girls to stay true to themselves and live free from societal stereotypes through lessons that empower girls to celebrate their bodies, honor their voices and embrace their personalities while also training for a 5K run. This year, 100 girls participated in the program. Community Education thanks the following businesses that helped make the program a success: Clearwater Clothing, Ridgeview Medical Center and Tom Konrardy, Shape It Up Fitness, Chelle Vogel, Lauren Hackbarth, Sarah Nelson, MyHealth & Christine Pedretti.
