Go for a run on Nickle Dickle Day!

Each year Waconia Community Education offers a run in conjunction with the Waconia Chamber of Commerce Nickle Dickle Day, which will be held Sept. 14.
2013 marks the 20th annual Nickle Dickle Day 5K, 10K and ½ Mile Tickle run. This also marks the first year that a half marathon will be added as well. Each year the run continues to grow. There were 937 runners in 2008, 1,202 runners in 2009, 1,287 runners in 2010, 1,413 runners in 2011, and 1,631 in 2012.
In the past five years, the participants have increased by 694!
The theme for this year’s run is “Some 1 Has To Run This World.”  All of the runs start and end at Bayview Elementary School. The half marathon starts at 7:30 a.m., the 10K starts at 8 a.m., the 5K starts at 8:10 a.m. and the ½ Mile Tickle starts at 11 a.m.
All half marathon runners will receive a black zip-up jacket with the registration fee. The 5K and 10K runners have the option of no shirt, long or short sleeve dri-fit shirt or a long or short sleeve cotton shirt.  The Tickle runs have the option of no shirt or a short sleeve cotton shirt.
Registrations for the run are accepted at the Community Education office or you can register online at www.active.com or www.waconiacommunityed.org.

The run is a great way to start off your Nickle Dickle day. After the run, participants are encouraged to go to City Square Park and enjoy all of the festivities of the day!
