Carol V. Nord, age 89, of Carver, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at the Lyngblomsten Care Center in St. Paul.
Funeral Service held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at the West Union Lutheran Church (15820 Market Avenue) of Cologne with Rev. Wolfgang Laudert officiating; Interment in the church cemetery; Visitation was 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home (141 East First Street) in Waconia and continued Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Carol V. Nord was born the daughter of Peter and Malinda Lunde in Vienna, S.D. She was united in marriage with Edward J. Nord on Aug. 15, 1953 at the West Union Lutheran Church of Cologne. This union was blessed with theree children Kay, Eric and John.
Carol was proud to be a teacher and education had always played a big part of her life. She also enjoyed reading, playing card games, crossword puzzles and traveling. Carol was a dedicated baseball fan.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband Edward; brothers Galvin, Earl, Quentin and Lowell Lunde; sisters-in-law Mildred Zellmann and Marilyn Herrmann; brother-in-law Everett Nord.
Carol is survived by her loving family: daughter Kay Nord Hunt of St. Paul; sons and daughter-in-law Eric and Sue Nord of Billings, Mont., John Nord of Eden Prairie; grandchildren Alexander Nord, Kirsten Nord, Arianna Nord and Zachary Nord; sister Donna Soldatke of Souix Falls, S.D.; brother and sister-in-law Laverne and Tonie Lunde of Wisconsin; sister-in-law Mary Lunde of Coon Rapids; brother-in-law Donald Herrmann of Bloomington; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The casket bearers are her grandchildren.
