Senior Club

Tuesdays, 1 p.m. - The Watertown Senior Club meets every Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Watertown City Hall. All 55+ welcome. Info: (952) 955-2697.

 

Peace Lutheran midweek program

Wednesdays - JAM! Jesus and Me! is a program designed to help kids think bigger, better and grander thoughts about God!  We care about sharing the gospel with your child and teaching them how to build Christian relationships with others.  The afternoon will be a time for kids in grades 1-5 to grow in their own relationship with Jesus.  We will be studying God’s Word, teaching kids how to apply it to their lives, having fun with arts/crafts, music, skits, games and a light supper! WEFC Children’s Program

Wed. evenings - We’d love your children to join us at Watertown Evangelical Free Church to learn and share about God!  The evening is filled with stories, music, games and love for our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Whether your child is in Hoppers (born on or before 9/1/11 and potty trained – Pre K) or JWJ – Journey with Jesus (K-6th grade) they will love the friendships they gain with their peers and joy they will feel learning and sharing about God.  The program begins Sept. 25.  All denominations welcome!  See you there!  Please call or email Jen Preston to register:  952-955-1068 or jkpreston76@hotmail.com.

 

Free Hot dinner at St. Paul’s

1st Thursday, 5:30-6:30 p.m.  - Please join St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (505 Westminster Avenue. SW in Watertown) once a month for a wonderful full course hot dinner. All are invited every first Thursday of the month. Info: 955-1498.

 

Watertown Farmer’s Market

Thursdays this summer, 3:30-6:30 p.m.  – Only one week left of the market season.  We still have fresh veggies and free range eggs.  Come down and visit us to stock up on canned goods or craft items for Christmas gifts. Located across from the Post Office.

 

Tri-County Toastmasters

Fathers, football and food

Thur., Sept. 26, 6:30-7:30 p.m.- The Watertown-Mayer High School Football team invites fathers with their children to an evening of reading and fun at the Watertown-Mayer Elementary School! Call the Elementary School office with any questions at 952-955-0300 or e-mail Kurt Becker: kbecker@wm.k12.mn.us. Hot Dogs, Chips, Refreshments, and Time with the Team. For kids in kindergarten – 5th grade. Parent/ Guardian must be present for children to attend. If dad is unable to attend another male role model or mom are encouraged to attend.

 

Ice cream social

Thur., Sept. 26, 5-7 p.m. - “More than an Ice Cream Social” at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 201 Buffalo St., Delano. Serving: smoked pulled pork sandwiches,  coleslaw, chips, coffee/lemonade, ice cream, and homemade pie or cake. Take out available.

 

ECFE Kid’s Stuff Sale

Sat., Sept. 28, 8-11:30 a.m. -More than 30 sellers selling gently used baby and children’s clothing, toys and accessories. Watertown Mayer Middle School Gym.

 

DandyLions book drive

Sept. 30-Oct. 5 - Mayer-Watertown DandyLions used book drive will be held from Sept. 30 to Oct. 5. Drop off children’s and adult books at Watertown Floral Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

 

Historical Society Meeting

Thur., Oct. 3, 12:30 p.m. - The Watertown Area Historical Society will meet at the Watertown Community Center. Agenda includes election of officers.

 

WMMS Scholastic Book Fair

Oct. 3 and 8 - The Watertown-Mayer Middle School Scholastic Book Fair will be held Thursday, Oct. 3 and Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 3:30-7:30 p.m.  The public is invited to attend, held in conjunction with Parent/Teacher Conferences.  Many books for all ages available.  Sponsored by W-M PTO.

 

Fall Bazaar/Bake Sale

Oct. 4-5 – Peace Lutheran Church, 600 Kristi Lane, Watertown (Cty Rd 20, east of Elementary School) will hold its second annual fall bazaar. Crafts, doll clothes, wood working, jewelry, scarves, cards, maple syrup, canning, baked goods, jams, candy, garden produce. Friday, Oct. 4, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Funds Supplemented by Thrivent. Two local authors will also have book signings: Linda Reinert, author of Talking is Hard For Me!, and Joann Deveny, author of When Bluebirds Fly: Losing a Child, Living With Hope.

 

St. Paul’s Salad Luncheon

Sat., Oct. 5, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.. - St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown will hold its annual salad luncheon and bake sale at the church at 505 Westminster Ave. SW in Watertown. Hosted by the LWML and funds raised will be supplemented by Thrivent Financial For Lutherans.

 

Wine/Food/Fellowship

Sat., Oct. 5, 5:30 p.m. - St. Peter Lutheran Church in rural Watertown is holding “An Evening of Fine Wine, Food and Fellowship.” Six wines, five-course dinner. Tickets limited to first 80 people. Jeff Stern Memorial Golf Tournament

Sun., Oct. 6, 1 p.m. - The Jeff Stern Memorial Golf Tourney for CCLS will be held at Shadowbrooke Golf Course in Lester Prairie. 9-Hole Scramble Event, for fun or serious golfers, 1 p.m. shotgun. Lunch will be served at noon, bring your family! Register for golf solo or put a foursome together. Cost is $45 for 18 and up, $40 for 17 and below. Augsburg Centennial Singers

Sun., Oct. 6, 4 p.m. - The Augsburg Centennial Singers will appear in concert at Peace Lutheran Church, 600 Kristi Lane, Watertown. The concert features familiar hymns and barbershop and sacred music selections. Under the direction of Al Reesnes, the 60-member Centennial Singers take their name in remembrance of the 100th anniversary of the first Augsburg Gospel Quartet to visit Norway in the 1890’s.   The Singers have made two trips to Norway, a concert tour in the Florida and several visits to the Southwestern United States.

 

College Fair

Mon. Oct. 7, 9-11 a.m. - MEF College Fair will be held at Watertown-Mayer High School, with students from numerous high schools attending. The event is open to the community and will be held in the high school auxiliary gym.

 

CatholicManNight

Thur., Oct. 10, 6:30 p.m. – The Church of the Immaculate Conception will be hosting CatholicManNight. It is a Special father and son night, featuring reflections on “The Awesomeness of Jesus Christ,” Adoration; Confession; man meal; and raffle.

 

Carver County Senior Expo

Sun., Oct. 17, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. - The 2013 Carver County Senior Expo will be held at Waconia High School. Event includes breakfast treats, keynote speaker Ron Schara, vendors, health screenings, hot chicken dinner, door prizes, update on Carver County services and projects, and more. Tickets required.
