Mayer Riverside 4-H Club

There is still room for more to join the Mayer Riverside 4-H club. New members or prospective new members of the club are urged to attend the monthly meetings. They are held on the third Sunday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Mayer Community Center. If you have any questions about the club you are to call Melanie at 612-749-0400. This club has been happening for as long as I have been writing the Mayer News, which is 45 years. That’s why new members are needed to keep this club in the know.

Car and Cycle Show

Tuesday, Sept. 24 was the last night for the new Car and Cycle Show in Mayer. I can honestly say the shows had very good participation for the first year. The camaraderie of all persons involved proved to be excellent. The 50s theme music gave the atmosphere of all a very pleasant taste for one and all who attended. Thanks to everyone. I personally enjoyed going up town to relive my younger days by seeing all the vehicles and hearing the music of the 50s era. Thanks to the vendors and the farmer’s market sellers which added to the show. A big thank to my son, Tom, for his work putting this together for our enjoyment.
