Arthur B. Rohe, age 87, of Waconia, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 at the Waconia Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral Service held Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church (601 Second St. E.), Waconia with Rev. Arden Malotky officiating; visitation Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home (141 First St. E.), Waconia and at the church one hour prior to the service; interment Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Arthur was born on Nov. 7, 1925 in Tyler, N.D., the son of Walter and Anna (Guetzko) Rohe. He was confirmed in May of 1939 in Albany by Rev. Walter Rohe. On June 18, 1948 Art was united in marriage to Adeline E. Sabrowsky in Albany, Minn.
Arthur met Adeline, his beloved wife of 65 years at a church youth group in Albany. Art served his country in Japan during WWII with the Army. He was very involved with the church his whole life, and especially enjoyed his Thursday and Saturday morning bible classes at Trinity Lutheran Church. Art loved to spend time with his 10 grandchildren. He looked forward every fall to hunting at the shack near Big Fork, Minn., where he was known to bag a grouse or two and occasionally get a buck. Art enjoyed gardening and wood carving signs for family and friends.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Anna Rohe; brothers Herb and Carl Rohe; sister Luella Kjos.
Arthur is survived by his loving family wife Adeline; children Kathy Hanning of Roseville, Jim (Casey) Rohe of Shakopee, Lyn Rohe of Prior Lake, Luann Pugh of Waconia, Mary Huepenbecker of Norwood Young America; grandchildren Angie (Mitch) Jurisch, Laura (Ryan) Wolcenski, Allison (Kristos) Konstantinides, Audra (Eric) Vance, Brent Rohe and fiancee Anjela Williams, Kevan (Katie) Pugh, Kristina Pugh and fiance; James Childress, Kayla (Tom) Kendrick, Mitch Huepenbecker, Matt Huepenbecker; great-grandchildren Shane, Seth, Madison, Savanna, Tanner, Cassidy, Hunter, Janorra, Narriah, Everett, Elizabeth, Alyssa, Amanda; brother and sister-in-law Paul and Sally Rohe of Huntsville, Ala.; sisters and brother-in-law Helen Koepp of Litchfield, Ruth and Jim Chandler of Breinigsville, Pa.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Aaron and Leona Sabrowsky of La Mesa, Calif., Raymond and Erna Sabrowsky of La Mirada, Calif., Grace Sabrowsky of Albany, Adeline Sabrowsky of Melrose; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
