Richard R. Kunze, 85
Richard R. Kunze, age 85, of Waconia, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 at his home in Waconia.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday Sept. 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church (41 East 1st Street) Waconia; Con-Celebrants of the Mass are Father Bennet Tran and Father Lawrence Blake; visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at church; interment St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery.
Richard was born on Sept. 12, 1928 in Waconia the son of John and Bertha (Mueller) Kunze. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Josephs Catholic Church. On Jan. 23, 1965 Richard was united in marriage to Priscilla L. Wagener at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Waconia.
Rich was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the drum and bugle corp and the Waconia Hunt Club. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War. Rich was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed working on his wood projects and telling a good story.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents John and Bertha Kunze; brother and sister-in-law John and Helen Kunze; sister and brother-in-law Eileen and John Hassel; great-nephew Ben Kunze.
Richard is survived by his loving family; wife Priscilla; children Melissa (Steve) Eiter of Chaska, Tony (Leanne) Kunze of Waconia, Sara (Michael) Leivermann of Waconia; grandchildren Bairet, Reagen and Ryan Eiter; Ross and Gus Leivermann; Tyler Poulliot, Ethan Kouro; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Virgie Kunze of Waconia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Patricia and David King of Arizona, Pauline and Richard Molnau of Waconia; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Josephs Cemetery Fund or Ridgeview Hospice.
Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia;
