Tami Marie Vollrath, 46
Tami was born in Milbank, S.D., into the home of Stephen and Barbara Nielsen. She was baptized and confirmed at Wilmot Lutheran Church, graduated from Wilmot High School, and earned her BS in Pharmacy from South Dakota State University before going on to receive her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at North Dakota State University. After completing her residency at Regions Hospital, Tami went on to live and work in the Twin Cities, most recently holding the position of Clinical Consultant Pharmacist in long-term care facilities. Her life was marked by a love of travel, theater, and Vikings football. She enjoyed music, played in a bell choir, and sang in the church choir. Together with a special circle of women, she helped organized a Christian singing group called Sisters in Christ. These women celebrate her life today serving as honorary pall bearers. There was always time for friends and family, and that family expanded when she met Brian Vollrath. They married May 29, 2010 and made their home in Corcoran, as well as among us at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Tami left her earthly home for eternal rest in the arms of her loving Savior at age 46 following a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Marion and Ella Farrington and Loren and Edith Nielsen. Tami is survived by husband, Brian; parents, Stephen and Barbara Nielsen; sister, Stacey (Jake) Eggert; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Milton and Evelyn; brother-in-law, Steven; dear friend, Annette Scanlon; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. Pall Bearers were Jason Koering, Paul Scanlan, John Barlau, and John Prouty. Additional services and interment will take place in Wilmot, S.D.
