The annual Fall Fish Fry, which is sponsored by the Mayer Fire Department, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Mayer Community Center on Blue Jay Avenue. The time of serving will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Ladies of Zion LWML will have slices of pie for you to purchase after the meal. Bring the family to dinner and show the firemen your support.

Zion Fall Festival Oct. 26

The annual Fall Festival will be held at Zion Lutheran School on Saturday, Oct. 26, in the school gym and the new classrooms from 2-4 p.m. All children and their families are invited to attend. There will be games, prizes and treats galore. Pop, water and juice boxes will be available for purchase. Use your imagination and come dressed up in a fun non-violent costume (or come as you are). Zion members are urged to volunteer their services to oversee an activity. Call Eric Bosersma at 952-255-8151 or Barb Grimm at 952-657-2476. Craft Day at Zion

The Fall Scrapbook and Craft Day will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, in the church basement at Zion from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Come for part of the day, or stay for the entire session. Cost will be $10 for the day. Meals are provided, please bring your own drink. RSVP by calling Karla Borgendale at 952-657-2746.

Compost Site

The compost site remains open until all the leaves are down. There will be someone on duty on Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to noon.

Mayer Riverside 4-H

On Sunday, Oct. 20, the Mayer Riverside 4-H club met and elected a new council. The club has a president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and reporter. The club also talked about keeping records of accomplishments. At the meeting, the club also spent time cleaning roadside ditches. Mayer Riverside meets the third Sunday of every month at 6 p.m. at the Mayer community center.  New members are always welcome. (Submitted by Grace Gassen)
