Arrest made for the promotion of prostitution in Chanhassen

An arrest was recently made in Chanhassen regarding the promotion of prostitution.

Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson reports that on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at approximately 4:15
p.m., deputies served a search warrant at the 7900 block of Stone Creek Drive in Chanhassen.
Sheriff’s deputies began an investigation into an allegation of prostitution at a massage parlor.
Preliminary information suggested women were offering sexual services, in addition to massage
services, for a “$40-$60 tip.”
On Oct. 29, an undercover deputy, posing as a massage customer, booked a massage
appointment. During the massage, the suspect offered to provide sexual services in exchange for
money. Shortly thereafter, Sheriff’s deputies entered the business with a search warrant. Upon
entry, deputies discovered the business occupied by two women and two men in adjacent
massage rooms, in addition to the room occupied by the undercover deputy and suspect. All of
the women were semi-clothed and at least one of the other men was nude when deputies entered
the business.
Each of the women confessed to engaging in prostitution.  Deputies arrested a 37 year old
woman from Eden Prairie for felony promotion of prostitution. She is currently being held in the
Carver County Jail pending formal charges from the Carver County Attorney’s Office. Deputies
booked and released a 35 year old woman from Savage and a 31-year-old woman from Richfield
for misdemeanor prostitution.
Sheriff’s deputies later served a search warrant at the business owner’s Eden Prairie residence
where they discovered additional evidence.
Sheriff Olson says, “Prostitution is not a victimless crime. Most sex workers are vulnerable and
poor and duped into a life of dependency and abuse.”
The male business patrons were identified and released. The case remains under investigation.
