New Tonka Brew Fest coming to Minnetrista

After more than a year in the making, the Mound-Westonka Rotary Club is finally ready to unveil its new craft beer fundraising event Tonka Brew Fest featuring more than a dozen Minnesota breweries.
From 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, participants will be able to sample more than 25 beers from local breweries at Gale Woods Farms in Minnetrista, while noshing on brats, chips, food and registering for door prizes and drawings. The Abiders will provide live music as entertainment.
Attendees should arrive with IDs ready for the 21+ event, and they will get a wristband and 4.5 ounce commemorative sampling glass to take with to the various booths.
The proceeds from the event will benefit the Mound-Westonka Rotary’s charitable causes such as scholarships, community projects and even international projects through partnerships with other rotary groups.
The Mound-Westonka Rotary group has sponsored past international projects such as donating a $30,000 van to an orphanage in Romania and drilling a well in another country. It also employs mentorship programs with high school students and hosts and annual golf open, said event coordinator Bill Pinegar.
Participants must be 21. Tickets are $40 and available through a rotarian. For more information, visit
