MBC blood drive

THURSDAY, NOV. 14 – Memorial Blood Center will be hosting a blood drive at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia from noon to 7 p.m. Memorial Blood Center supplies all the blood to Ridgeview Medical Center. ‘Family Affair’ at LHS

NOV. 15-17 – All are invited to enjoy Mayer Lutheran High School’s fall musical, “A Family Affair!” Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 and Saturday, Nov. 16 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17. General Admission tickets can be purchased at the door.

Benefit concert

FRIDAY, NOV. 15 – A benefit concert for the Crisis Nursery of the Scott, Carver and Dakota counties CAP Agency will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. at Moravian Church (115 East 4th St.) in Chaska. Classical and spiritual music led by pianist Linda Carlson and others. Family-friendly; all welcome. St. Bernard’s Bazaar

SATURDAY, NOV. 16 – St. Bernard’s Church in Cologne presents its annual Christmas Bazaar and Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take out available.  Craft items, baked goods, quilt chances.

ISD #108 CE Craft Fair
SATURDAY, NOV. 16 – The 31st annual ISD #108 Community Education craft fair will be held at Central High School and Central Elementary School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Over 200 crafters will take part. Lunch will be available at both sites. Also visit the vendor fair at St. John’s.

Pet adoption event

SATURDAY, NOV. 16 – Sixth District Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R) will hold a “Coffee with your Congresswoman” event, an informal opportunity for constituents to meet and talk with Bachmann, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Egg-Cetera Cafe (241 E. Frontage Road, Waconia).

Polka Pancake B’fast

Community Kidz Day

Pancake breakfast

SUNDAY, NOV. 17 – Council 2506 will be hosting a pancake, French toast and sausage breakfast at St. Joseph parish center in Waconia from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Council supports the parishes of St. Bernards, St. Joseph and St. Victoria.

SUNDAY, NOV. 17 – A Chow Mein Dinner will be held at American Legion Post 150 (233 Olive Street, Waconia) from 4 to 7 p.m. Take out orders available.

Thanksgiving Open Skate

SUNDAY, NOV. 17 – Join Waconia Parks & Recreation from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Waconia Ice Arena for its Thanksgiving Open Skate. Bring a non-perishable food item (cereal, granola bars, deodorant, lotions, canned fruits and vegetables and canned soup) for the Waconia United Food Shelf and receive $1 off the entrance fee. Local DFL meeting

Public Health Shot Clinic

MONDAY, NOV. 18 – Carver County Public Health (600 E 4th St., Chaska) provides immunizations, or shots, to residents who don’t have health insurance or whose insurance does not cover shots, from 3 to 5 p.m. Shots for adults and children available. Caregiver Support Group

MONDAY, NOV. 18 – Carver County’s Encore Adult Day Services Program and Augustana Emerald Crest Assisted Living  provide a monthly Caregiver Support Group to address the issues of caring for the aging. Opportunity to meet and talk with other caregivers and local senior professionals to gain insight, resources and support. Sons of Norway concert

TUESDAY, NOV. 19 – Gustavus College musicians Michael and Bonnie Jorgensen will be the guests of Scandia Lodge at 7 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Waconia. Michael and Bonnie discovered a treasure of handwritten music composed by Theodora Cormontan (1840-1922), who emigrated from her native Norway in 1887 and spent the next 30 years in Minnesota.  Info: [email protected]

Early Childhood screen.

FRIDAY, NOV. 22 – Early Childhood Screening is offered by ISD 110 staff that checks a child’s overall development and health. Recommended screening age is between the ages of 3 1/2 and 4 years. Screening will take place from 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at 520 Industrial Blvd. Info: 442-0613.

Hamburg Fall Bingo

FRIDAY, NOV. 22 – The Hamburg Lions will host a fall bingo event at 7 p.m. at the Hamburg Community Hall.Hamburgers, beverages and popcorn will be available. There is a cost with door prizes after each game and meat raffles throughout the evening. Proceeds are used for the annual “Lunch with Santa.”
