Central bowling nears end of season, conference tourney

The Central bowling team went 3-1 this past week, losing to Hutchinson and winning matches against Watertown and Sibley East, along with getting a bye.
The Raiders improved to 24-4 on the season to remain behind Hutchinson (26-2) in the Mid Central Conference, while Mayer Lutheran (3-25) is fifth.
Overall, the Raiders have won 106 of 140 games with one tie with a team average of 155.67, while the Crusaders are 36-102-2 with a team average of 126.32.
Individually, Central is led by Matt Thom who has 152 strikes and 119 spares in 332 total frames. Thom is just ahead of Watertown’s Jack Brueggemeier (114-137-313) for the Conference MVP.
Peter Schwichtenberg has 90 strikes and 96 spares in 264 total frames, on pace for eighth place.
Also, Brian Krueger has 68 strikes and 79 spares in 242 frames, Curtis Urness has 49 and 64 in 206, Maddie Farrell has 35 and 81 in 221 and Blake Teubert has 42 and 78 in 231.
Mayer Lutheran’s Elizabeth Parrish is in ninth place with 90 strikes and 115 spares in 317 total frames.
Also, Jon Chapa has 39 and 77 in 244, Joel Wacker has 39 and 77 in 244, Nick Lundgren has 35 and 42 in 181, Connor Wisch has 22 and 53 in 206, Amanda Trost has 12 and 32 in 138 and Noah Elliott has 12 and 25 in 124.
Central then took part in a meet at Hutchinson on Nov. 12, with matches against Hutchinson and Mayer Lutheran.
The conference tournament is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 14, at Hutchinson.
