Marie Lenz

Marie E. Lenz, age 92, of Watertown, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at the Elim Home in Watertown.
Funeral Service held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church (600 Kristi Lane) in Watertown with Rev. Shannon Bauer officiating; visitation was from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church; interment at the Watertown Public Cemetery, in Watertown.
Marie was born on Feb. 13, 1921 in Franklin Twp., Wright County, Minn., the daughter of William and Emma (Lenz) Leiter. Marie was baptized in March of 1921 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Watertown and confirmed on July 1, 1934 at Gotaholm Lutheran Church in Watertown by Rev. M. LeVander. On March 11, 1944 Marie was united in marriage to Stanford Lenz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown by Rev. William Anderson.
Marie was a very social person, always having time for a conversation with anyone. She treasured going to the state fair every year and the county fair. Marie had a deep faith, teaching Sunday school at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown for 33 years. Keeping in shape was a number one priority for her by taking daily walks. Marie had the opportunity to meet some high level political officials such as George Bush during her lifetime. She had great mind for knowing many families backgrounds throughout the area. Shopping was a great pastime for Marie, enjoying the many trips to the mall or whatever store she was going to.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Stanford; son Lee Allen; father and mother William and Emma Leiter; sister Dorothy Quaas; brother Glenn Leiter; nephews LeRoy Quaas, Larry Leiter and Larry Magnuson.
Marie is survived by her loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Casket Bearers Randy Quaas, Marvin Quaas, Dale Magnuson, Mark Magnuson, Daniel Leiter, Thad Quaas, Theron Quaas, Travis Quaas.
