A structure fire that caused an estimated $80,000 in damaged occurred in Camden Township on the night of Wednesday, Nov. 20.
According to Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson, the fire was reported at 11:13 p.m. in the area of the 15000 block of 94th St in Camden Township.
Norwood Young America Fire Department was dispatched, along with Sheriff’s Deputies. The first arriving deputies reported heavy smoke and fire from a detached garage. The garage was located between a home and a barn.
Norwood Young America Fire Department requested mutual aid from Waconia, Mayer and New Germany Fire Departments. Ridgeview Ambulance also responded to stand by.
The garage and contents appear to be a total loss. The surrounding structures were not damaged. There were no injuries reported. At this time, the fire does not appear suspicious in nature. The estimated loss is $80,000 including building and contents. The matter remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Fire Marshalls Office.
