The third annual Mayer Moxie Health Initiative will run from Jan. 16 through April 3. It will be held on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
Train for the Trail will be from April 17 through May 22. The Move For Your Moxie 5K will take place June 7, 2014.
The Mayer Moxie program is a fresh approach to make healthy lifestyle choices, exercise and diet. Maintain or shed a few pounds! Come join your friends in a fun environment to learn new ways to live and be healthier. If you are a returning participant, bring a new face and receive $10 off of the registration. Program dates are Jan. 16 through April 3 and include speakers, door prizes, activities and rewards. There will be cash prizes for the highest percentage of weight lost maintaining health on April 3. The registration form was in the mail this past week. Registration can be done online or by bringing the form to City Hall, located on Blue Jay Avenue.
This is to let the public know that the compost/recycle site will remain open year round only on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon. You can bring your yard waste if you still have some at this time. Also, you can bring all recycle materials, cans and glass at this time.
Just a reminder to all Mayer residences that there is to be no parking on city streets when we get snowfall of 1 inch or more until all streets are plowed.
