Watertown Council finalizes process to fill vacant seat

The Watertown City Council finalized plans during a Dec. 3 workshop for an application process to fill its vacant seat.

The City Council seat, vacated by the resignation of Steve Crowder on Nov. 12, will be open to anybody who wants to apply. Application forms will be available at City Hall, and applications will be accepted until Jan. 8.

The applications will then be presented to the City Council by Jan. 14, and all applicants are asked to attend the Jan. 28 City Council Meeting. At that meeting, the applicants will give statements and field questions from the current council regarding their interest in the position.

The City Council could potentially move to appoint a member that night, or could wait until a later date to actually appoint a new member.
