Timberwolves youth clinic hits Waconia Dec. 31

The Minnesota Timberwolves & Lynx Basketball Academy have announced details of its holiday basketball clinics held between Dec. 27 and Jan. 3. The clinics occur around the metro area during the holiday season in Andover, Burnsville, Coon Rapids, Farmington, Maple Grove, Minneapolis, North St. Paul, Prior Lake/Savage, Rogers and Waconia.

The clinics are for boys and girls ages 7 to 14, and aim to teach young basketball players the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling and defense. The Academy will also host two advanced skill holiday clinics for girls and boys in grades 6-8. To provide the best competition and player/coach ratio, these high intensity clinics are limited to the first 50 boys and girls who sign up.

With clinic registration, each participant receives a Timberwolves ticket voucher to an upcoming game along with other prizes. Clinics are led by Timberwolves Basketball Academy Director Steve Brown along with the Academy’s staff of former college players and coaches. Attendees are asked to bring their own basketball to the clinic.

To register for any clinic, go to www.timberwolves.com/holidayclinics. An early bird discount is available for registrations through December 13. For additional questions, contact Pat Freeman at (612) 673-1206 or freeman@timberwolves.com.
