In its only meet of the week, the Watertown-Mayer High School defeated Litchfield, 142.55 to 120.9 on Friday, Jan. 17, in Watertown.
The Royals claimed the top three spots in the all-around competition. Katie Heilman finished first with a score of 36.1, Tina Scanlon was second with a score of 35.6, and Megan McCain was third at 34.775.
Heilman won both the vault and the uneven bars. She finished with a score of 8.8 to win on bars and a score of 9.4 on vault. She also finished tied for second on beam with an 8.7, and her 9.2 on floor exercise was good for third place.
McCain won floor exercise with a score of 9.05. She was also tied for third on bars with an 8.0, fifth on floor with an 8.75 and fifth on vault with an 8.95.
Scanlon finished second on three of the four events. She was second on bars with an 8.7, second on vault with a 9.25, and tied for second on beam with an 8.7. She also took fourth on floor with an 8.5.
Brooke Leaf won on floor for the Royals, posting a 9.475. She was also fourth on beam with an 8.675.
Ailsa Gilbert finished second on floor for the Royals with a 9.4, and she was also third on vault with a 9.15. Caitlin Duske added a tie for third on bars with a score of 8.0, and Taylor Hix was fourth on vault with a 9.1. Caitlin Kammerer was fifth on beam with a score of 7.95.
Watertown-Mayer claimed the top five individual spots in three of the four events. They also had the top four on bars, while Litchfield earned a fifth place finish in that event.
Up next, the Royals will host Mound-Westonka at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Then, the Royals will compete in the True Team State meet on Saturday, Jan. 25, at noon at Melrose Area High School.
The meet is reserved for the top 10 teams in the rankings in Class A. Along with Watertown-Mayer, Alexandria, Austin, Big Lake, Detroit Lakes, Melrose, New Prague, Perham, Sartell-St. Stephen and Willmar will also be competing.
