Janice Buckentine

Janice A. Buckentine, age 75, of Chaska, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral Service was Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Zoar United Church of Chris (7030 US Highway 212) of Chaska with Pastor JaNae Westrich as officiant. Visitation was Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia. Visitation continued Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment Zoar United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Janice was born Nov. 16, 1938 in Bongards, Minn., the daughter of Jerry and Elizabeth (Hoernemann) Flusemann. Janice was baptized as an infant on Dec. 18, 1938 at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Bongards by Rev. Oppermann and confirmed in the faith on March 30, 1952 at the St. Johns United Church Of Christ in Bongards by Rev. Oppermann. On Oct. 11, 1958 Janice was united in marriage with Arthur R. Buckentine at St. Johns United Church Of Christ in Bongards by Rev. Franzmeier.
Janice was an active member of the Zoar United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for over 20 years. She was an avid gardener, sharing her vegetables and flowers with many. Janice was a dedicated farmwife and a hard worker. She was very good role model for her children. Janice cherished the time spent with family and took great pride in taking care of her grandchildren.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Elizabeth Flusemann; grandson Brandon Otteson, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law William Kroells, Douglas Mueller, Mary Flusemann, Verdelia and Robert Buetow, Orline Lenzen and Fredrick Buckentine; father-in-law and mother-in-law Fred and Katherine Buckentine.
Janice is survived by her loving family: husband Art Buckentine of Chaska; son and daughter-in-law Paul and Becky Buckentine of Shakopee; daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Scott Ebert of Chaska, Tami and Joel Wentzlaff of Green Isle; grandchildren Brian Besselieu, Zach Buckentine, Alyssa Buckentine, Nathan Ebert, Jared Ebert, Braydn Wentzlaff, Colton Wentzlaff; sisters and brother-in-law Vivian Kroells of Hamburg, Marlene Mueller of Norwood Young America, Donna and Bernie Meuleners of Cologne; brother Warren Flusemann of Norwood Young America; brother-in-law Wilbert Lenzen of Waconia; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
