Peace Lutheran midweek program
Wednesdays – JAM! Jesus and Me! is a program designed to help kids think bigger, better and grander thoughts about God! 34th annual ice fishing contest
Sat., Feb. 1, 1-3 p.m. – An ice fishing contest will be held on Lake Whaletail in Minnetrista. All proceeds go to Boy Scout Troop 209 in Watertown to help send scouts to summer camp. Dairy Princess Informational Meeting
Sun., Feb. 2, 11 a.m. – Candidates are currently being sought to compete in the 2014 Carver County Dairy Princess contest. Candidates must be the daughter of a Carver County dairy farmer or dairy farm employee, or be employed on a dairy farm. She must be at least a senior in high school, not yet 24 years of age by July 1, 2014, never married, childless, and have an active interest in dairy. There will be an Informational meeting at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Carver County Extension Office in Cologne. Parents are welcome to accompany their daughter to this meeting. Firearms safety registration
Mon., Feb. 3 – The Waverly Gun Club is offering the Minnesota Firearm Safety training class for anyone at least 11 years old by Jan. 1, 2014. Students who complete all the requirements receive a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Firearm Safety Certificate. Registration for this class is Monday Feb. 3 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Waverly Gun Club. For minors a parent or guardian must attend registration. Proof of birth date is required. Sat, Feb. 15, noon – 3 p.m. – Volunteers for the Carver-Scott Humane Society will hold a pet adoption event at PETCO in Eden Prairie. PetCo is located off old Hwy. 212 and Singletree Lane. Two rabbits, 18 kittens 3 months and older, and 26 cats up to 10 years old will be available. Dogs 3 months to 7 years old will be there.
