As a freshman at the University of North Dakota, Anna Pioske is making waves on the Division I volleyball team.
A 2013 graduate of Waconia High School, Pioske helped the UND team to capture its first ever Big Sky Conference title with a 17-3 record. The team was 22-11 overall this season.
Pioske played 116 sets for UND this season and was the team’s No. 3 hitter with 331 kills. She was also third on the team in digs, with 252 total.
Her biggest games came in early November, as the 5-foot-11 outside hitter logged 23 kills against Idaho State and 21 kills against Weber State on Nov. 1-2, two of 18 games she hit double digits.
Pioske hit double figures in digs 12 times, her highest a 17-dig performance to end the season against Idaho State on Nov. 29.
After a stellar freshman season, Pioske received All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in the Big Sky Conference, and was also named Freshman of the Year.
At WHS, Pioske holds the Wildcat volleyball record for most career kills, including 490 her senior year. She also holds school records in track and field in the 800 meters, 4×200 meter relay, and 4×800 meter relay. She was a three-time All-Conference selection in volleyball and won numerous awards.
Pioske is a kinesiology major at UND and the daughter of Brian and Patty Pioske.
