Connie Schlechter, 54

Connie E. Schlechter, age 54, of St. Bonifacius, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at the Elim Home in Watertown.
Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church (4025 Main Street) with Father Joseph-Quoc Vuong as Celebrant of the Mass; visitation Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the Mass all at St. Boniface Catholic Church; interment St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
Connie was born on Nov. 11, 1959 in Waconia the daughter of Lloyd and Ruth (Wickenhauser) Ebert. On March 11, 1977 Connie was united in marriage to Paul D. Schlechter in Watertown, S.D.
Connie had a huge heart always putting everybody elses needs before hers. She took care of her son Jason for 35 years at her home with love and tenderness. Connie loved to be out in the garden tending to her vegetables which she would can and share with numerous people in the neighborhood. She was a fabulous cook, making soup was her specialty never making just enough for her family but for a much larger family so she could share with others. Connie also enjoyed making candy that she would give out to everyone. She grew up farming with her father and mother which instilled her hard work ethic.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Ruth Ebert; brother Robert Ebert; grandparents Andrew and Mary Ebert; Aunts Bernice Volkenant, Verna Weiland, Lenore Walters, Elaine Stelten; uncle Donald Ebert; father-in-law Donald Schlechter;
Connie is survived by her loving family: husband Paul Schlechter; son Jason Schlechter; Nephew Adam Ebert; special friends Ashley Mellgren, Carol Holland; aunts Muriel Wickenhauser of Cologne, Luella Grabow of Sleepy Eye, Clarissa Wickenhauser of Mankato; uncles Bill Volkenant of Buffalo, Gilbert Walters of Cologne; mother-in-law Elaine Schlelchter of New Germany; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Gary and Susan Schlechter of New Germany, Mark and Malinda Schlechter of Florida, Lisa Pexa and fiance; Joseph Korus of Ramsey, Beth and John Weinzierl of Buffalo; other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Casket Bearers John Boll, Henry Vanderlinde, Mike Ebert, Bill Weiland, Bill Wickenhauser, Steve Wickenhauser, Tony Weinzierl, Bob Vanderlinde, Ken Volkenant, Robert Volkenant.
