Authorities shut down Highway 212 after car chase

A car chase has resulted in Highway 212 being shut down in both directions near Eden Prairie in the morning of Friday, Feb. 7.

According to published reports, the incident started around 7:30 a.m. and involved a car traveling eastbound on Highway 212 from Chanhassen into Eden Prairie. The vehicle was stopped near Highway 101. MnDOT cameras allegedly showed officers with guns drawn on the vehicle after it stopped. As a result of the incident, Highway 212 has been shut down in both directions near the incident.

According to Chief Deputy Jason Kamerud of the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, additional information will be available later in the day.
