Crusaders trample Giants, still lead MRC

The Mayer Lutheran boys’ basketball team picked up two Minnesota River Conference wins last week, a 56-48 victory at NYA Central Feb. 3 and 66-53 over LeSueur-Henderson Feb. 7. The Crusaders led by 10 points at halftime on Feb. 7 and outscored the Giants 34-31 in the second half. Top scorers for LHS included senior Anthony Gruenhagen (20), sophomore Sam Schlueter (10), senior Cole Buttenhoff (8), senior Mason Diedrick (8), and junior Taylor Otterstatter (8). Tomorrow night, Feb. 14, the Crusaders travel to Watertown to take on the Royals in a 7:30 p.m. game.
