ISD #108 Central Public Schools Regular Board Meeting Jan. 27, 2014
The meeting was called to order by Chair Latzig at 6PM with all members present. Others in attendance included B. Knoche, A. Gruenewald, M. Daugs, R. Erpenbach, T. Erickson, and B. Corlett.
Chair Latzig administered the oath of office to newly elected board member, Nicole Evenski.
Election of board officers was held with incumbents being unopposed and re-elected unanimously.
Member Spille read Recognition: District 108 Is Proud Of.
Motions passed unanimously to approve the Agenda, the Dec. 16 Minutes and the Consent Agenda.
There were no comments from visitors.
Administrative reports were given by appropriate individuals.
Motion passed 7-0 to recognize and accept the following donations:
a) $436 from Central Booster Club for Knowledge Bowl
b) $640 from MSHSL Foundation for Activity Fee Scholarships
Betsy Knoche, from Ehlers, presented a report on General Obligation School Building Bonds.
Board moved 7-0 to adopt Resolution providing for the Sale of General Obligation School Building Bonds, Series 2014A.
Board moved 7-0 to adopt Resolution of School Board supporting Form B/C Application to MSHSL Foundation.
Motion to approve the 2014-15 school year calendar passed 6-1, with Pexa voting against.
Board moved 7-0 to adopt LEA Representative Resolution.
Board moved 7-0 to adopt Resolution directing administration to make recommendations for reduction in programs and positions.
A discussion was held regarding the possibility of conflict of interest for some board members when serving on contract negotiation committees.
Motion passed 7-0 to approve the 2014 School Board committees.
CEA and MSEA Seniority lists were approved unanimously.
Several lane changes were approved 7-0.
Board reports were given by appropriate members.
The next Board Meeting was confirmed as Feb. 24, 2014, 6PM, HS Rm A240.
There was no round table discussion.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:10PM.
