Regular Board Meeting
Feb. 24, 2014
The meeting was called to order by Chair Latzig at 6PM with all members present except C. Pexa. Others in attendance included: B. Knoche, J. Kienitz, M. Daugs, R. Erpenbach, T. Erickson, and B. Corlett.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the board and audience.
Member Spille read – Recognition: District 108 Is Proud Of.
Motions passed unanimously to approve the Agenda with one addition, the Minutes of the Jan. 27, regular board meeting, and the Consent Agenda:
There were no comments from visitors.
Administrative reports were given by appropriate individuals.
Motion passed 6-0 to recognize and accept the following donations with the request that administration clarify that the school district is not involved with the trap shooting club.
$408 from Waconia Vet Clinic for FFA
$500 from Cologne Fire Department for youth baseball uniforms
$734.50 from Central Boys Basketball Association for practice jerseys
Ehlers representative, Betsy Knoche, gave an update on the sale of General Obligation School Building Bonds, Series 2014A.
Schug/Lind to adopt the following resolution: Resolution awarding the sale, determining the form and details, authorizing the execution, delivery and registration, and providing for the payment of $3,330,000 General Obligation School Building Bonds, Series 2014A. Resolution passed: 6-0
Motion passed unanimously to authorize the Superintendent to advertise the Request for Proposal for the hiring of a school auditing firm.
Schug/Evenski to adopt the following resolution: Resolution approving the dissolution of the Carver-Scott Educational Cooperative No. 930. Resolution passed: 6-0
The first reading of several MSBA suggested policy changes was so noted, as well as the first reading of a Post-Issuance Debt Compliance Policy.
Board reports were given by various members.
The next Board meeting was confirmed for Mar. 17, 2014, 6PM, H.S. Room A240
There was a brief Round Table discussion.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:45PM.
