Wrestling/BB salt sale
The Waconia wrestling and baseball teams have kicked off their annual spring water softener salt sale. Residents who live in ISD #110 can order salt and have it delivered to their homes on Saturday, April 26. Three types of softener salt are available: coarse, pellet and iron. Women of Waconia
THURSDAY, APRIL 3 – Women of Waconia (formerly known as Waconia Area Women of Today) is a group of volunteer women that come together for community service and socializing among its members. Members can choose what service projects are of interest to them and new ideas are encouraged. Early Childhood screen.
APRIL 3-4 – Early Childhood Screening is offered by District 110 staff that checks a child’s overall development and health. Recommended screening age is between the ages of 3 1/2 and 4 years. Screening will take place from 2:30 to 5 p.m. on April 3 and 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on April 4 at the Early Childhood Family Center, 520 Industrial Blvd. Info: 442-0613.

Book signing, reading
SATURDAY, APRIL 5 – Gary C. Newton, a professor of Child and Family Ministries at Crown College in St. Bonifacius, recently published a book for children entitled “The Adventures of Spunky and Dunky and Buddy Bear: Rescued at Last.” He will hold a book signing and story reading at Mocha Monkey in downtown Waconia. Newton will read the story to any interested children and families at 4, 4:30, 5, 5:30 and 6 p.m. by the fireplace.
Mayer FD fish fry
SUNDAY, APRIL 6 – The Mayer Fire Department will hold its annual spring fish fry at the Mayer Community Center from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Zion LWML will sell pie for dessert. Tickets available at the door.

Faith Renewal event
APRIL 6-10 – A Faith Renewal/Parish Mission will be held at the Catholic parishes of St. Boniface and St. Mary of Czestochowa from April 6-10. The theme, God’s Wondrous Love, will be presented by Fr. Lon Konold, OMI.
