Calling all teens, college students for Global Youth Service Day

Three Rivers Parks is calling on all metro area high school and college-aged youth to show their volunteer spirit during “Global Youth Service Day,” April 11 and 12. Around the world, teenagers will be improving their communities through service and service learning projects.
Three Rivers is recruiting student volunteers to help clean up the parks, ready trails for summer use, prepare gardens, clear brush, protect the watershed, and more. Scouts, church youth groups, sports teams, homeschoolers, honor societies and students seeking to fulfill service requirements are all encouraged to join in. Global Youth Service Day – Spring Spruce Up
• Friday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista.
Help sites and staff prepare for spring! Trails, buildings, gardens and more special projects are waiting for a helping hand. Projects vary by location. Open to high school and college-aged youth. Registration is required. Call (763) 559-6700 and reference activity number #599013-00. This program is for ages 14+.

Global Youth Service Day – Independent Park Clean Up
• Friday, April 11, from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at Carver Park Reserve, Victoria.
Help make the parks beautiful by cleaning up what winter left behind. This project must be done with an adult leader. This project is open to high school and college-aged youth. Registration is required. Call (763) 559-6700 and reference activity number #599001-08. This program is for ages 14+.
