Hope Rides plans June horse show

It’s not too early to start thinking about getting involved in the Hope Rides Youth Show Extravaganza, a horse event fundraiser that will be held at the Carver County Fairgrounds in Waconia on Sunday, June 22.
Hope Rides is a registered 501(c)(3) organization that was founded by Vollie Heitkamp in 2007. Hope Rides Youth Ranch programs are offered at ranches located in Mayer and Stacy, Minn.
After years of horse ownership and providing opportunities to children whose families did not have access to horses, Heitkamp followed a nudge to start a nonprofit organization that would allow children to connect to horses in a safe, peaceful and loving environment intended for healing, growth and hope. Hope Rides programs are free of charge and available to youth ages 5-18.
The Youth Show Extravaganza features more than 50 classes and is a WSCA Qualifying Horse Show.
The event includes pony rides, leather crafts, face painting, roping, bingo, an hourly raffle and more. All proceeds benefit the outreach of Hope Rides. To learn more about the event, contact (612) 819-5537 or (612) 310-6350, email [email protected], or visit Hope Rides at www.hoperides.org.
