Consortium offering QPR suicide prevention training

A3-MentalHealthLogoCMYKThe Mental Health Consortium of Carver County invites the public to learn QPR, a proven emergency response to prevent suicide. Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) training covers the three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives.

QPR training will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 19, in the Wilder Room of the Chanhassen Library (7711 Kerber Blvd, Chanhassen).

The workshop will be conducted by Donna Fox, Program Director for NAMI Minnesota, state chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. There is no charge for the workshop, and Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits will be available.

Pre-registration is preferred but not required. Register for the workshop through the Ridgeview Medical Center’s website or register at the event.
