WHS performs ‘The Taming of the Shrew’

Waconia High School will present William Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” at the high school auditorium at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4. Tickets are $6 for students and $8 for adults.

“The Taming of the Shrew” is a drama that tells the story of a shrewish daughter, Katherina, and her lack of a husband. The audience follows Katherina, Bianca, and Baptista as they go through the issues involving Katherina’s non-marital status. Finally a young suitor, Petruchio, arrives and plans to woo and marry Katherina. Despite Katherina’s best efforts, she and Petruchio are married.

See a transformation from a shrewish daughter to a loving and tamed wife. This show is a one-act adaptation of “Taming of the Shrew” and runs about 45 minutes. Costumes are on loan from the Guthrie.
