Elmer Deis, 84

Elmer John Deis, age 84, of Chaska, Minnesota, died Monday, May 26, 2014 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, in Shakopee, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 2, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 417 Oak Street North, Carver, with Pastor Jon Niebuhr officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota at 12:15 p.m..
Elmer was born April 12, 1930 in Waconia, Minnesota, to Christ and Sophia (Wiedekuhr) Deis one of nine children. He was baptized at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waconia, confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Chaska, and graduated from Chaska High School. Elmer proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On November 12, 1960 Elmer married Marion Lenzen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carver. They had three children. Elmer worked as a television repairman for over 35 years at Dons Appliance in Richfield and also had a business at his home. His hobby was farming and he also loved country western music and singing in the church choir. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Chaska VFW. His wife Marion died in 2008.
Elmer was preceded in death by his wife, Marion, parents, brothers, Edward and Erwin, sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Gerald Peters, Edna and Buddy Poppitz, Donna and Alvin Luedloff, Marie Deis and Dale Kohman.
Survivors include his children, Mary Jean (Dale) Luedloff, of Carver, Nancy (Russ) Adams, of Valparaiso, Indiana, Richard Deis and fiance;e Katie Lemke, of Chaska; grandchildren, Jodi (Brian) Tonsager, Shannon (Tara) Luedloff, Ashley, Courtney and Matthew Adams; great grandchildren, Kendall Tonsager and Devin Luedloff; sisters, Adeline Kohman, of Chaska, Sonja Deis, of Chaska; sister-in-law, Mavis Deis, of Shakopee; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were with the Bertas Funeral Home of Chaska, Minnesota.
