It’s ‘Not Just Your Mama’s Fair’ this year

2014 CCF Logo Circle CMYKThe 103rd edition of the Carver County Fair promises to be “Not Just Your Mama’s Fair” when it takes place at the Carver County Fairgrounds in Waconia on Aug. 6-10.
Organizers have made sure that plenty of new offerings and traditional favorites will be available for fair-goers, from activities and event to the food and entertainment.
For Grandstand fans, the fair is offering great ticket packages for the first time this year. The new Grandstand Family Pack allows the whole family (up to two adult tickets and up to four child tickets) to attend a Grandstand event for $30, which is $18 off of the regular price. The new Grandstand Season Pass includes four tickets for each of the four ticketed Grandstand events for $20, which is a savings of $12.
Admission to the Carver County Fair is $7 per person (age 7 through adult) and free for children 6 and under and, new this year, free for all ages after 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10. Gate hours are 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. each day of the fair, except on Sunday when the gate is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Special days include Senior Citizen Day (seniors 60+, half price from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday), Military Appreciation Day (free admission with current military ID on Friday), and Kid’s Day on Saturday.
Exhibit buildings and barns are open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The commercial buildings are open from noon to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
