Waconia Lakers to face Orphans Aug. 23

After earning a bye for the first round of the 2014 Minnesota State Amateur Baseball Tournament for Class C, the Waconia Lakers are set to square off versus the Howard Lake Orphans in Belle Plaine at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23.

The Orphans battled Montevideo on Friday, Aug. 15, shutting them out in a 5-0 victory. The state tournament is single elimination, so if the Lakers defeat Howard Lake, they would advance to face the victor of a game between Jordan / Bemidji at Jordan at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30.
