MDHA plans annual fundraiser banquet

A5-DeerHunterLogoCMYKOn Sunday, Sept. 7, the Wright County/West Metro Whitetails Chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association (MDHA), will be hosting its 24th annual fundraiser banquet at the River City Extreme entertainment complex in Monticello. Social hour begins at 3:30 p.m. and a roast beef and chicken dinner starts at 5 p.m. There will be lots of exciting raffles, games and a silent auction.

The main purpose of the banquet is to raise funds to send kids to the MDHA’s Forkhorn Camps, which introduce kids to the outdoors and the importance of protecting our state’s valuable natural resources.

This year the Wright County/West Metro Whitetails Chapter sent several area kids to camp and would like to send even more next year. The other purpose of the banquet is to also raise funds to sponsor a special youth-mentored deer hunt with the Three Rivers Park District within Baker Park.

This special youth-mentored hunt is designed to give area kids the opportunity to hunt for deer that might not otherwise have such an opportunity due to lack of access to hunting land or because they do not have an older hunter to assist them with getting started in hunting.
