Susan M. Kurtz, age 40, of Minneapolis and formerly Norwood Young America, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2014.
Funeral service 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 at Church Of Peace (424 Franklin Street N.) in Norwood Young America with Rev. Dale Inman as officiate. Visitation Friday 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Susan Marie Kurtz was born Dec. 12, 1973 in St. Paul. She was baptized and confirmed at the Church Of Peace in Norwood Young America. After graduating from the Central High School in 1992 Sue attended North Dakota State University. She had worked at the Fargo County Club in Fargo, N.D., and Runyons and Zelo restaurants in Minneapolis.
Sue loved all aspects of the arts. She enjoyed both reading and writing poetry and recently began painting. Sue loved to dance and studied ballet from a young child on through high school highlighted by her membership in the Bloomington Dance Company. Sue will be remembered for her strong devotion to all of her interests.
Sue is preceded in death by her grandparents Henry and Irene Kurtz; aunt Rosemary Hagen; uncle George Schaffhausen.
Sue is survived by her loving family: parents Clint and Pat Kurtz of Norwood Young America; brothers Tom (Pam) Kurtz of Waconia, Steve (Kim) Kurtz of Hamburg; grandparents Norman and Louise Nelson of Fargo, N.D.; nieces and nephews Cortney (Luke) Minger, Katherine Kurtz, Kylie Kurtz, Ryan Kurtz, Kendra Kurtz, Andrew Kurtz; aunts and uncles Beverly and Russ Slotten of Pelican Rapids, Joycelyn Schaffhausen of St. Paul, Ken and Carol Nelson of Knoxville, Tenn., Ginny and Lynn Marr of Fargo, N.D., Charles and Roberta Nelson of Ayr, N.D., Larry and Corinne Nelson of Salem, Wis., Art Hagen of McLeod, N.D.; special friend Mike Wendland of Minneapolis; as well as other relatives and many dear friends.
