Wilfred “Will” Yetzer

Wilfred “Will” Yetzer, age 99, known to many as Uncle Will, passed peacefully on July 29, 2016 at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home in Chaska, MN.
Will was born February 16, 1917 in Waconia. His entire life revolved around Waconia, family and friends.
He spent his career in the funeral, furniture, and flooring business where he used his time, talent, and treasure for the betterment of Waconia and its residents, from helping get the hospital built to starting Island View Golf Club. Will was a charter member of the Lions, on the Waconia Chamber, member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, and American Legion.
Will served in WWII as a medic on the front lines under General Patton and enjoyed sharing his memories with anyone who asked. During these last few years Will used his knowledge of Waconia to help the Waconia Heritage Association with their latest book.
Will was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Euna; parents, Katherine and Joseph Yetzer; brothers, Jerome, John, and Leon; sisters, Germaine Holler and Forence Becklund, nephew, Mark Holler, and great-nephew, Jack Flood.
Will is survived by his brother, Stan (Chris) Yetzer; sister, Rita (Dean) Givans; nieces and nephews, Holly (Craig) King, David (Linda) Givans, Dawn (Dan) Perrel, Steve (Rita) Yetzer, Jill (Nick) Flood, Kelly (Paul) Kohls, Jacquie (Jon) Schneewind, Sandi (Jon Dressen) Becklund, Chuck (Pearl) Becklund, Jeff (Deb) Becklund, Terry (Dave) Erickson, Peter Holler, Kay Dickman, Sheila (Jim) Hartman, Marcia Yetzer, and Andrea Wickenhauser. Euna’s children: Becky (Francis) Condon, Jon Thom, and David (Kathy) Thom; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Waconia. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will also be two hours prior to the Mass on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Joseph Catholic School or the Will and Euna Yetzer Endowment Fund for the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home.
