Forner selected as Central senior student of the month

Nick Forner

Nick was nominated by Central High School staff and voted as Senior Student of the Month for April.
Criteria used for the selection was academic progress, responsibility, school spirit, personal growth and character.
Nick was chosen for the following reasons: “Nick has been a member of Varsity, Concert, and Chamber Choir for four years while at Central. He was the first freshman in Chamber Choir which is a high intensity, auditioned selected ensemble at Central. Nick is also a section leader and Concert Choir Vice President. He has also been heavily involved in sports and theater. He has participated in football and wrestling for many years, along with two trips to the State Wrestling Tournament for two years in a row.  He has also been heavily involved in drama productions at Central. He’s played the lead characters in the One Act Play last year, and the fall play this past fall. Nick has a strong work ethic. He’s a dedicated worker and has maintained good grades in his classes. He has a kind demeanor and is willing to go the extra mile to help others.”
His plans after high school are to attend Ridgewater College in Hutchinson for machine tools technology.
Nick’s advice to underclassmen and peers is to try new things. He states that you will meet new people and make a lot of friends. Some the best friends that he has, he’s made while participating in things that he has never done before. And, he says, don’t procrastinate.  It will cause a lot of stress. So work on your projects gradually, doing a little bit every day.
His hobbies and interest include participating in sports, fishing, disc golfing and hanging out with friends.
Nick’s favorite class at Central is shop class because he enjoys working with his hands. His favorite activities are football and wrestling because he got to hang out with his friends, and he also had some success playing in the football and wrestling state tournaments.
Nick is the son of Rich and Kerri Forner.
