In their lone meet of the past week, Central track and field competed at Sibley East on Friday.
Among eight teams, the girls finished in third place with 81 team points as Minnesota Valley Lutheran won the meet with 140.5 points, while the boys were in sixth with 34 points and LeSueur-Henderson won the meet with 204.5 points.
Individually for the girls, Maria Sons finished first in the 200 in 27.74 seconds and second in both the 100 (13.53) and 300 hurdles (50.41) events, Addysen Farrell won the 800 (2:34), Judy Larson took third in the 1600 (6:07), Grace Strickfaden crossed in fourth in the 100 (13.83), Sommer Scott was in sixth in the 800 (2:48) and Amber Orr got seventh in the 110 hurdles (22.00),
For relays, Central 4-by-100 squad got fourth in 55.20, with the 4-by-200 in fifth (2:04) and the 4-by-400 team in sixth (5:17).
Also, Emma Klaustermeier won the shot put, throwing it 36 feet and 5.5 inches, and also got fifth in the discus (79-7), while Anna Schnabel cleared 4-2 in the high jump for fourth place and Mikayla Eschlemann finished fifth in the triple jump (26-11.5).
For the boys, Pisces Tek secured second in the 100 (12.11) and fifth in the triple jump (36-7.75), Michael Potter finished third in both the 1600 (5:18) and 3200 (11:15) events and Michael Bortz got fifth in the 400 (57.23).
The 4-by-100 team finished in the fourth place (48.87), the 4-by-400 got fifth (3:55), and the 4-by-800 relay squad crossed in seventh (10:22).
Central track and field will next travel to Sleepy Eye on May 9. The Minnesota River Conference track meet will be at LeSueur-Henderson on May 18, with the Raiders also competing at Hutchinson on May 22 and the 2A subsection 8 meet will be at Jordan on May 25. Section 2A meet will be at Mankato West on June 3 with the state tournament at Hamline University on June 9 and 10.
