Mary Ann Bovy

Mary Ann Bovy, age 81, of Cologne, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 210 Church Street East, Cologne with Father Gregory Abbott as Celebrant of the Mass; visitation Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the Mass, all at the church. Interment Church Cemetery.
Mary Ann was born on November 2, 1935 in Laketown Twp. the daughter of John and Dora (Robling) Green. Mary Ann grew up on the farm in St. Bonifacius. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius. Mary Ann was a graduating member of the Waconia High School Class of 1954. She attended and graduated from The School Of Practical Nursing at the Miller Hospital in St. Paul. On June 18, 1960 Mary Ann was united in marriage to Dennis Bovy at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waconia.
Dennis and Mary Ann raised their five children on the family farm outside of Cologne. Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother and nurse. As a farm wife she loved cooking, gardening, canning and raising her children. Mary Ann was a nurse at Nagel Hospital, Nightingale Nursing Home and worked at Young America Corporation.
She liked to play cards, read books, go on road trips, fishing, gardening and canning. Mary Ann especially enjoyed spending time and making memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Dennis; parents John and Dora Green; brothers Clarence, Henry and Donald Green; sisters Dorothy Wellens and RoseMary Spah.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving family: daughters Denann (Scott) Karels of Hamburg, Denise (Gerry) Buetow of Cologne, Denita (Roger) Walley of Chaska; sons Paul Bovy of Cologne, Philip (Ann) Bovy of Cologne; grandchildren Denista Karels, Brent Karels, Brian Buetow and special friend Molly Hartman, Chris (Jenna) Buetow, Jacob (Cara) Buetow, Brennen Walley, Adam Walley and special friend Kylee Kraayenbrink, Carter Walley, Zach and Joe Bovy; great-grandchildren Emma Buetow, Brooke and Chase Buetow; brothers Marvin (Karen) Green of Nisswa, Francis (Nancy) Green of Norwood Young America; sisters-in-law Amalia Flipp of Oakdale, Karen Bovy of Blaine, Delphine Good of Shakopee; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
