Wendell K. Olson, age 73, of Watertown died Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Johanna Shores Gables Care Center in Arden Hills.
Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Fellowship Hall of Johanna Shores, 3220 Lake Johanna Blvd, Arden Hills with Pastor Jared Little as officiant. Visitation held one hour prior to the service. Interment in the Watertown Public Cemetery at a later date.
Wendell Keith Olson was born December 11, 1943 the son of Oscar and Helen Marie (Ellefson) Olson in Fullerton, CA. Wendell attended the Brandon High School. He was united in marriage with Anita Cunningham on December 26, 1964 in Rapid City, SD. This union was blessed with children Tammara, Darren and Keith.
Wendell worked as a machinist for Washington Scientific Industries from 1967 through 2002. For the following five years he drove truck mostly for Dart. Wendell was active in the Spoken Word Christian Motorcycle Club, the Pathfinders where is he served as an assistant leader, and his church congregation.
Wendell enjoyed fishing, golfing and hunting. He loved taking care of his many pets over the years. Wendell cherished the time spent with his family.
Wendell is preceded in death by his parents Oscar Olson and Helen Jacobson; step-father Julius Jacobson; brothers Bruce Foster, Gary Olson and Roger Jacobson.
Wendell is survived by his loving family: wife Anita Olson of Watertown; children Tammy (Duane) Barnes of Shoreview, Darren (Jennifer) Olson of New Germany, Keith Olson of Watertown; grandchildren Jessica (fiancé: Zach Garcia), Joseph Barnes, Janine (Matthew) Hagen, Kelsi Oberg, Keanen Hall, Riley Olson, Aaron Olson, Jacob Olson; great-grandchildren Rylin Oberg, Brooklyn Oberg; brother and sister-in-law David and Arlys Olson of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Carol Foster of Savannah, GA, Nancy (Bill) Olson of Harrisburg, SD, Donna Jacobson of Sarasota, FL, Andrew and Arlene Cunningham of Zimmerman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Serving as casket bearers Darren Olson, Keith Olson, Duane Barnes, Joseph Barnes, Matthew Hagen, Keanen Hall and Zach Garcia.
