Dr. William “Bill” Kloempken MD, age 68, of Waseca died Friday, July 14, 2017.
Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church, 15470 County Road 31, Hamburg with Rev. Daniel R. Schnabel as officiant. Visitation all at the church 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Interment in the church cemetery.
William Howard Kloempken was born November 6, 1948 in Glencoe the son of Howard and Jean (Zellmann) Kloempken. He was baptized on November 28, 1948 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church by Rev. Otto Vriesen. Bill later confirmed his faith on April 15, 1962 at St. Paul’s with Rev. Vriesen officiating.
Bill was a graduate of Central High School and St. Cloud State University. He continued his education at Mayo Medical School in Rochester graduating in 1978. Bill served his residency at the University Of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Minot, North Dakota. After his residency, Bill began practicing as a family practitioner in the Waseca hospital and clinic until his retirement in 2015. He was proud of all the individuals he served, infants he brought into this world and for being able to say he still made “house calls”.
Bill enjoyed everything sports. In early years he played baseball for the Hamburg Hawks. He loved watching the Vikings and Twins and sharing his opinions on how their seasons were going. Bill looked forward to his weekly golf outings with friends that would conclude with a game of cards.
Bill was a faithful member of his home church in Hamburg where he had served as a Deacon. Bill loved his family and was always interested in the activities of his nieces and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Jean; step father Marvin Mueller.
Bill is survived by his loving family: brother and sister-in-law Tom and Julie Kloempken of Hamburg; sisters and brothers-in-law Pat and Rick Logelin of St. Bonifacius, Mary and Gene Yaeck of Hamburg; nieces and nephews Heidi and Sean Peters, Jill and Tim Jopp, Kelly and Joel Wiegert, Nolan and Kacie Kloempken, Gina and John Magnuson, Joel and Heather Logelin, Jaime Yaeck; great nieces and nephews Taylor and Whitney Peters, Jocelyn Peters, Symone Jopp, Elijah Jopp, Abram Jopp, Samuel Jopp, Cade Wiegert, Maxwell Wiegert, Collette Kloempken, Liliana Magnuson, Ryker Magnuson, Adelyn Logelin, Braxton Logelin; aunts and uncles Bill Zellmann, Bob and JoAnn Zellmann, Mavis Kramer, Harriet Siewert, Carol and Robert Schepers, Sharon and Lloyd Graupmann, Glenn and Mary Mueller, Robert and Carmen Mueller; other relatives and many friends.
Serving as casket bearers Sean Peters, Tim Jopp, Joel Wiegert, Nolan Kloempken, John Magnuson and Joel Logelin.
