West Carver Lions will host the ninth annual National Night Out in Norwood Young America on Tuesday, Aug. 1.
The NNO Program has been in existence for 25 years across the United States and events are being held at local parks or as a block party. Residents of NYA will have a choice of organizing their own block party or attending the community event at the Legion Park located at the corner of Reform and Park Place.
The purpose of NNO is to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and strengthen neighborhood spirit and the ties with local law enforcement. The event at the Park will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m., it is free and open to the public.
The West Carver Lions urge you to join them at the Park, learn about your community and make some new friends. The Lions have arranged several different booths that will appeal to kids and adults alike as well as talk with representatives from various organizations.
New to the event this year is Children of Tomorrow, along with them will be the NYA Fire Department, NYA Public Works, the town deputy, Carver County Posse, Carver County Dairy Princesses, Stiftungsfest Ambassadors, LifeSource, Yellow Ribbon Members, NYA Chamber, Target representatives, and Cub Scouts to mention a few of the groups that plan to attend.
Please join us for an evening of fun and neighborhood camaraderie.
