Margery L. Grimm

Margery L. Grimm, age 84, of Waconia, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Auburn Home in Waconia.
Funeral Service Thursday August 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Friedens County Line Church, Intersection of CR 34 and Zebra Ave. in Norwood Young America with Rev. Robert Alsleben officiating. Interment in the Ferguson Cemetery, Norwood Young America. Visitation Wednesday 4-7 p.m at the Johnson Funeral Home, 141 E. First St., Waconia and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Margery Lillian (Brandenburg) Grimm was born on June 28, 1933 the daughter of John and Josephine (Rauschendorfer) Brandenburg in Waconia. She was baptized in the family home on July 16, 1938 by Rev. William Schneider.
Margery was united in marriage with Orlyn E. Grimm on August 17, 1949 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Watertown Township by Rev. John Spomer. This union was blessed with five children.
Margery and her husband Orlyn farmed on the Grimm family farm in Camden Township until they retired in 1989 and moved to Waconia. She enjoyed working alongside her husband in all aspects of farming. Margery also enjoyed many bus travel trips.
Margery was a faithful member of the Friedens County Line Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and had volunteered whenever needed. While in Waconia Margery worshiped and was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Margery loved to cook and bake for her family. She enjoyed crocheting, painting and doing jigsaw puzzles. She had a love for music and in her younger days her favorite song was “You Are My Sunshine”.
Family was Margery’s life. She cherished being with her family, especially her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Whomever she visited with, she was always concerned about their family.
Margery is preceded in death by her parents John and Josephine Brandenburg; husband Orlyn Grimm; son Robert Grimm; daughter Cynthia Venske; sister Dorothy Willemsen; brother John Brandenburg.
Margery is survived by her loving family: children Gary (Brenda) Grimm of Norwood Young America, Kevin Grimm of Waconia, Christopher (Mary) Grimm of Edgewater, MD; grandchildren Tricia Wittsack, Paul Wittsack, Joshua Venske, Brandon Venske, Jenna Venske, Shannon Grimm (special friend: Christopher Oliver), Brian (Sarah) Grimm, Kevin (Angie) Grimm Jr., Angela (Basheer) Grimm, Tina (Mike) Schmidt, Kenny Grimm, Christopher (Nicole) Grimm Jr., Matthew (fiance: Kristin) Grimm, Tyler Grimm, Gracie Grimm, Michael Grimm, Kaitlyn Grimm; nine great-grandchildren; sister Sandra (Tom) Giesen of Excelsior; brother Larry (Diane) Brandenburg of Watertown; sister-in-law Lieva Schmidt of Chaska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Serving as casket bearers Paul Wittsack, Brandon Venske, Kevin Grimm Jr., Kenny Grimm, Brian Grimm and Andrew Grimm.
