The Holy Family Catholic High School dance team recently captured first place in the jazz division of the Wright County Conference championships, held Jan. 19 at Mound-Westonka. The team includes, front row: Laura Kubisiak (Chanhassen), Savannah Kiffmeyer (Minnetonka), Kim Plante (Eden Prairie), and Elise Brausen (Excelsior); back row: coach Kristen Mackin, Kailey McCoy (Victoria), Annie Richelsen (Chaska), Maddie Prosser (Excelsior), Emily Vakulskas (Chaska), and coach Megan Rassmussen. Kiffmeyer, Kubisiak, McCoy, and Plante received All-Conference honors.

LHS names All-Conference dancers

The Waconia Lakettes held their 15th annual dance invitational last Saturday, Jan. 12. Featuring teams from all three classes, the Lakettes compete against conference opponents Annandale, Glencoe-Silver Lake, Hutchinson, Litchfield, and Orono. Section opponents Belle Plaine and Montevideo were also in attendance, along with South St. Paul, Norwood Young America, Minneapolis South, Benilde-St. Margaret’s, and Buffalo. The invitational, titled “Keep calm and dance” featured exhibition performances by Just For Kix and the River Valley Dance Academy. All three Waconia teams, including varsity, junior varsity A, and junior varsity B, compete in both high kick and jazz.
